Miley Cyrus has reportedly declined an invitation to perform "Party in the U.S.A." at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in the United States

Miley Cyrus has reportedly declined an invitation to perform "Party in the U.S.A." at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in the United States.

According to an insider, the singer doesn't feel comfortable performing a song celebrating the country in light of President Trump recent actions.

In 2016, Miley posted emotional messages on social media saying she was upset about Trump’s rise in politics and even said she might leave the country if he became president.

She later clarified that she would stay in the U.S. because she wanted her “voice to be heard” rather than leave.

After Trump won the 2016 election, she posted a tearful video saying she accepted him as president even though she strongly disagreed with him politically.
